My first 2000m

The "My First Ride" event series enters its fourth round with the 2000m elevation gain challenge.

Meeting point: 7.00 am at the Augartensteg

Please meet there on time, feeling fit and well-rested. Anyone who hasn’t already received it will be given the stamp card for the entire series, along with some useful tips.

As this tour is very demanding, please note the following points:
• Regular cycling throughout the summer or good stamina is essential
• You should have already cycled at least 1000–1200 metres of elevation gain in a single ride
• Please set aside the whole day
• The pace will be a little faster to complete the tour in a single day

After discussing the ride rules, we’ll set off straight away and cycle up to the Schöckl, where we’ll take our first short break. From the Schöckl, the route takes us via Plenzengreith, past Fladnitz an der Teichalm and up to Lake Teichalm, where we’ll take our second break. We’ll then cycle down through Breitenau/Mixnixgraben to Frohnleiten. In Frohnleiten, there is the option to end the cycle tour and take the train back to Graz (total distance to Frohnleiten: 92 km / 2000 m elevation gain). However, we will also cycle back to Graz.

Pace: moderate
Distance: approx. 132 km (90 km)
Elevation gain: approx. 2500 m (2000 m)
Terrain: approx. 17% gravel paths, side roads, cycle paths

IMPORTANT!
Everyone is welcome to join the ‘My first ride’ event series. Out of respect for and to support less experienced participants, leaving the cycling group is expressly NOT encouraged. The pace will be slow throughout and all participants must adhere to the set pace.

We look forward to achieving all your goals together and, at the end of the series/season, looking back with pride on the year and your achievements.
