My first Schöckl

One of the highlights of the event series is the group ride to the summit of the Schöckl. It looks massive, high and perhaps unreachable by bike. But we want to show you that, together with us, you can do it.

Meeting point: 8.00 am at the Augartensteg

Please meet us there on time, feeling fit and well-rested. Anyone who hasn’t got one yet will receive the stamp pass for the entire series, along with some useful tips.

After going over the ride rules, we’ll set off together and cycle to Andritz and through the Annengraben, where we’ll soon begin the climb up the Schöckl. We’ll then ride approx. 1000m of elevation gain at a steady, moderate pace up to the Schöckl summit, where we’ll stop for refreshments and celebrate reaching the top together. On the way back into town, we’ll head down the north-western side of the Schöckl and take Kalkleitenstraße back into the city.

Distance: approx. 56 km
Elevation gain: approx. 1300 m
Terrain: approx. 17% gravel paths, side roads, cycle paths

IMPORTANT!
Everyone is welcome to join the “My first ride” event series. Out of respect for and to support less experienced participants, leaving the cycling group is expressly NOT permitted. The pace will be slow throughout and all participants must adhere to the set pace.

We look forward to achieving all your goals together and, at the end of the series/season, looking back with pride on the year and your achievements.
